Call to Worship (adapted from Psalm 118)

May the love of God be with you all,

            And also with you.

Let Israel say,

            God’s steadfast love endures forever!

Let the people of St. Andrew’s say,

            God’s steadfast love endures forever!

Let all creation say,

            God’s steadfast love endures forever!

God has opened the gates of righteousness

So that all may enter and know God

Every stone, even the one rejected, will be used to build God’s temple

Every stone will sing out praises for what God has        done!

*Hymn: VU#123     “Hosanna, Loud Hosanna”

Opening Prayer:

Holy God, we enter into the gates of this holy place to celebrate with these holy people. We joyously join together in song, we faithfully offer you our prayers, and attentively listen for your still speaking voice. We wish to join in the chorus, with all the people of every time and place; we wish to join voices of every rock, tree and all the universe, crying out “Blessed is the one who comes in the name of God!”

We pray to you who is our mother and our father who art in heaven hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us, and lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil; for thine is the kingdom, the power and the glory, forever and ever. Amen.

Time with God’s Children
