Words of Welcome
Call to Worship:
May the love of God be with you all,
And also with you.
This is it! The time we’ve been waiting for is here!
Through all generations, in every heart, we’ve waited to know God’s love.
But here, in this humble place, on this ordinary evening, a miraculous birth will take place!
The birth of God’s love made flesh, God’s wisdom given human voice!
God’s son is born this night;
Born into history, born into the heart and now, born into any heart willing to be opened to God’s grace!
Let us pray:
Holy and creating God, long ago, you entered into human experience to guide all of your children to your realm – a place and time where justice is lived out, where kindness is known by all, and where love reigns. Remind us all as we gather here on this night, that Jesus, born long ago, is here, is calling to us all, is still speaking through your prophets, and is still leading us to your promise. Let us sing joyfully, love wastefully, and give thanks to you our God without end. Amen.

Call to Offering
Offering Hymn: VU# 55 Verse 4
What can I give him, poor as I am?
If I were a shepherd, I would bring a lamb;
if I were a wise man, I would do my part;
yet what I can I give him – give my heart.
Sung response: VU#1 “O Come, O Come, Emmanuel”
God be with you.
And also with you.
Lift up our hearts.
We lift our hearts in prayer.
Let us give thanks to God.
It is good to give God thanks and praise.
Loving God, source of all, we thank you and praise you with our lips and with our lives, that having created us and all things through your holy Word, you welcome our prayer and praise.
For all your blessings,
for the birth of Jesus who shows us the way to you,
for the surprise of finding the miraculous in the ordinary,
for the chance to celebrate new birth within the hearts and minds of every person, every day we praise you.
With all that is, seen and unseen, and with all the faithful of every time and place, we join in these words of thanksgiving:
Holy, holy holy God,
power of life and love!
Heaven and earth are full of your glory!
Hosanna through the ages!
Blest is the one who comes to bring
justice to your earth!
Sharing the feast
*Hymn: VU# 67 “Silent Night”
