Call to Worship:

May the love of God be with you all,

            And also with you.

From coast to coast, from nation to nation, whether from small towns or big cities,

God’s people are called to worship.

In French and English, in Swahili and Spanish,

            God’s people rejoice in worship.

In moments of celebration, at times of loss; for the sacrament of Baptism, around the Lord’s table,

God’s people are joining together for worship.

With the love of God in their hearts; ready to risk and learn,

God’s people find fulfilment in worship.

Let us join in then, with all the faithful, from all lands, and worship our God!

*Hymn: VU# 226      “For the Beauty of the Earth”

Opening Prayer:

We sing in celebration O God for we know you are here! We thank you for this place of worship and this community which warms it. We have come from our own lives to be neighbours in Christ. We have come, neighbour, friend, and family, with our own voices. We come into your presence as separate people yearning to join the chorus of all creation into a glorious song of praise for all you provide.

We pray to you who is our mother and our father who art in heaven hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us, and lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil; for thine is the kingdom, the power and the glory, forever and ever. Amen.
