Call to Worship:

May the love of God be with you all,

            And also with you.

Listen, the voice of wisdom is heard on the earth!

            We come to hear God’s voice with faith that it leads to new life.

God’s wisdom is the building block of all creation:

            Present in “the big bang,” in the voice of Jesus, and in           our own hearts.

God’s wisdom speaks truth to all who are willing to hear;

            We set aside distraction, our own “common sense,”   and expectation, so that we may be refilled with   God’s voice.

Come, it is time to worship,

            And let our lives be transformed into the blessing of    God!

*Hymn:   MV#10       “Come and Seek the Ways of Wisdom”

Opening Prayer:

Holy One, you set the stars in their courses, and breathed life into your creatures. You are present in the explosion of supernova, and in the first breath of a newborn child. Your spirit fills our lives with possibility and your wisdom is available to guide our ways. As we enter into worship, we pray that we are open to your creative energy, with minds open enough to hear you in new ways, with hearts ready to share your love, and hands ready to carry out your work.

We pray to you who is our mother and our father who art in heaven hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us, and lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil; for thine is the kingdom, the power and the glory, forever and ever. Amen.
