Call to Worship:

May the love of God be with you all,

            And also with you.

Come, here you are home, here you are welcome,

            We enter into a place of faith, of family, of forgiveness.

Come, here a banquet has been served, the table set, a place saved for you;

            We come to take our place at God’s table.

Come, it doesn’t matter who you are or where you’ve been;

            God wants us all here, in relationship with our creator

            and with each other

The past is done, this is a new day, a new opportunity,

            let us worship God together!

*Hymn: MV# 79       “Spirit Open My Heart”

Opening Prayer:

Holy Spirit, as we enter into our time of worship we ask that you open our hearts to your presence, to your wisdom and to your compassion. We open ourselves to thinking in new ways about your nature and about the unending promise of your grace. Be with us and remind us that you are always more than what we can imagine, you are more forgiving, more welcoming, so much more than fair.

We pray to you who is our mother and our father who art in heaven hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us, and lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil; for thine is the kingdom, the power and the glory, forever and ever. Amen.
