Call to Worship:

May the love of God be with you all,

            And also with you.

Come, in this place you are home,

This is God’s home and all are invited!

As we visit this place, we will be nourished and cared for;

A full serving of God’s grace is placed before us in    bread and wine.

We share a meal with Jesus himself!

We will see the living Christ in this place, in our            worship, and in the faces of all these people.

*Hymn: VU#175       “This is the Day that God Has Made”

Opening Prayer:

Renewing spirit, many years ago, you showed the world that your love was more powerful, even than death. We ask that as we worship you today, that love will sweep through our community, bringing us together, inspiring us to be your hands and voices in the world, and giving us the wisdom to respond to you with our love.

We pray to you who is our mother and our father who art in heaven hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us, and lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil; for thine is the kingdom, the power and the glory, forever and ever. Amen.

Passing the Peace of Christ

May the love of God be with you.

            And also with you.

Lift up our hearts.

We lift our hearts in prayer.

Let us give thanks to God.

It is good to give God thanks and praise.

Loving God, source of all,

we thank you and praise you with our lips and with our lives,

that having created us and all things through your holy Word,

you welcome our prayer and praise.

Into this world your spirit came in the form of the first stirrings of creation. Into this world, you gave us law through the prophets. Into this world your wisdom entered though the voice of Jesus. Into this world your love may enter through the hands, feet and voices of we your people. Into this world your love is delivered through families of every size and shape.

With faith in you and knowing you have faith in us, we gratefully hear your call and answer with our words of thanksgiving

            Holy, holy holy God,

power of life and love!

Heaven and earth are full of your glory!

Hosanna through the ages!

Blest is the one who comes to bring justice to your earth!

Prayers
