Call to Worship:

May the love of God be with you all,

            And also with you.

Make a joyful noise to the Lord, all the earth

Worship the Lord with gladness, come into God’s            presence with singing.

Know that the Lord is God.

It is God that made us, and we are Gods.

We are God’s people, and the sheep of God’s pasture.

We have entered these gates with thanksgiving and       this court with praise and we will sing in response to all           God is doing!

*Hymn:   VU#375       “Spirit, Spirit of Gentleness”

Opening Prayer:

Holy God, on this day we come with joy in our hearts and a song on our lips. Music is just one of the gifts you provide but it is this gift we celebrate today. May there be songs in all our hearts, may we sing out with abandon and without courage, so our song plays a soundtrack to your grace.

We sing to you the prayer Jesus taught:

VU#959           “The Lord’s Prayer”

Time with God’s Children

* Hymn: What A Friend We Have In Jesus, Joseph Scriven

What a friend we have in Jesus, all our sins and griefs to bear!

What a privilege to carry everything to God in prayer!

O what peace we often forfeit, O what needless pain we bear

All because we do not carry everything to God in prayer.

Have we trials or temptations! Is there trouble anywhere?

We should never be discouraged; take it to the Lord in prayer.

Can we find a friend so faithful, who will all our sorrows share?

Jesus knows our every weakness; take it to the Lord in prayer.

Are we weak and heavy-laden, cumbered with a load of care?

Christ the Saviour is our refuge; take it to the Lord in prayer.

Do our friends despise, forsake us? Are we tempted to despair?

Jesus’ strength will shield our weakness,

and we’ll find new courage there.
