Call to Worship:

May the love of God be with you all,

            And also with you.

Into God’s family we are born,

And into God’s family we stay!

Children all, of the God of love and wisdom,

Siblings to each other, called to compassion

            and kindness,

We celebrate with thanksgiving all that God has built:

            We celebrate family of blood,

            We celebrate family of choice

            We celebrate family of faith

We celebrate family of all God’s creation!

*Hymn:  VU# 226    “For the Beauty of the Earth”

Opening Prayer:

Generous Holy Spirit, we come into worship with thoughts of thanksgiving. We are given your grace, an inheritance that we can never lose.  We are provided your creation which sustains us and the rest of your children.  You bring us into this community, a place of safety and love that also inspired and provokes.

We offer our songs, our words and ourselves to you who is our mother and our father who art in heaven hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.  Give us this day our daily bread and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us, and lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil; for thine is the kingdom, the power and the glory, forever and ever. Amen.

Time with God’s Children

Offering Hymn:      VU#958          “Halle, Halle, Halle”

            Halle, halle, hallelujah

            Halle, halle, hallelujah

            Halle, halle, hallelujah

            Hallelujah, Hallelujah!

Holy Communion

Holy Communion Sung Response:

            VU#951 Holy, Holy, Holy

May God be with you.

            And also with you.

Lift up our hearts.

We lift our hearts in prayer.

Let us give thanks to God.

It is good to give God thanks and praise.

Loving God, source of all,

we thank you and praise you with our lips and with our lives,

that having created us and all things through your holy Word,

you welcome our prayer and praise.

VU# 951        “Holy, Holy, Holy”

Into the world your spirit blew your creative power, spinning galaxies on their axis, gathering stardust to create our earth, and creating the conditions for life to spring forth. We thank you for including us in this cosmic dance.

Into the world your son Jesus walked, teaching of the age to come, your realm, heaven, a time when all live with justice and peace. We thank you for his words, his life, his gift to us.

Into the world, you have sent us – to be your hands and feet, to be your voice calling for the protection of orphan and widow, lifting the lowly, teaching humility to the proud. May we all be worthy of your faith in us and we sing together:

VU#951         “Holy, Holy, Holy”

There with all that is, seen and unseen,

and with all the faithful of every time and place,

we join in these words of thanksgiving:

Holy, holy holy God, power of life and love!

Heaven and earth are full of your glory!

            Hosanna through the ages!

Blest is the one who comes to bring justice

            to your earth!

*Hymn:   VU#356    “Seek Ye First”
