May God’s special blessing, Descend upon you.

Lighting of the Christ Candle

Call to Worship:

May the love of God be with you all.

            And also with you.

Come to the potter’s shed and see what is being turned;

God is turning the world to face a new direction!

A new day is upon us, and the son warms us once again,

And a new day is upon us, free of burden,    limitless in possibility

God is turning the world into something new.

Let us greet this new day with celebration and         worship!

*Hymn:   MV120      “My Soul Cries Out”

Opening Prayer:

Spirit of newness, creator of all, we come into worship to join. We join with you and await the wisdom you share. We join with our neighbour, ready to hear and then act on your call to each of us. We join with the global church of Christ, ready to add our hands to bring peace, to bring understanding, to bring love. We add our hands, ready to get dirty, forming the soil of your creation in the temple of your realm.

We pray to you who is our mother and our father who art in heaven hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us, and lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil; for thine is the kingdom, the power and the glory, forever and ever. Amen.

Time with God’s Children

Jeremiah is brought to the potter’s studio to learn about the nature of our relationship with God.

Luke 14: 25-33                      Pew Bible Page #778

Jesus uses vivid (even exaggerated) language to explain that to be one of Jesus’ disciples, nothing should stand between ourselves and God.

These are our words from scripture,

May God bless our understanding. Amen
